In the year 1959, the late engineer Ejabuddin Ahmed started a company called “National Construction Company” (now defunct). After the success of his construction company, he dreamt to expand his repertoire to create a jute mill. The factory started being built from the year 1964, and operations started in 1968 for the National Jute Mills Limited. After the nationalisation of the jute mill, he was offered a potato cold storage in 1974 named Himadri Limited, and started construction for the Rabeya Flour Mills Limited in 1978, which opened 2 years later. During the early years of the 1980s, Mr. Ejabuddin Ahmed built the Afzal Oil Mills in the name of his son, but had to close it down during the end of the decade. However, we started operations for mustard oil again after the turn of the century. Between 1980 and 1990, he built 5 more cold storages under the Himadri Limited umbrella. As the company’s founder, Ejabuddin Ahmed, passed away in the year 1997, the company name was changed to Ejab Group, to honour his legacy. As we ventured into products such as Edible Oil and Rice, by building factories for each, and built more Potato Cold Storages around the northern parts of Bangladesh, we thought that we shouldn’t stop now. We added a wide range of processed food products under the name Northern Agricultural & Industrial Co. Limited, and even a Cattle Reproduction and Research Center under the Ejab Alliance Ltd. company. In the year 2006, our current Managing Director, Mr. Eshtiaque Ahmed, took the position, and with that came many changes to the company. His first ideas were to introduce new businesses such as Ejab Trading Co. Limited and Ejab Distribution Limited, in the space of 2 years. Ejab Distribution is the sole distributor in Bangladesh to Cepsa Lubricants, a lubricant company based in Spain, as well as Lubex, a Turkish brand. Over the years, we created our own Seed Processing Company where we produce potato, rice, maize, wheat and vegetable seeds, under the name Ejab Agro Limited.
